Cystic Fibrosis Canada offers an annual funding competition to support CF research and training in these categories:
Research Programs
The 2024 Competition is now open. Please see Grants & Awards Guide for details. LOIs have a deadlineofAugust 15, 2024. Fullapplications are dueOctober 1, 2024.
Operating grants are available for scientific and clinical researchers studying aspects of cystic fibrosis relevant to our CF Community Research Priorities at a Canadian academic institution (University, hospital, research institute, etc.):
Basic Science Research Grants
To support innovative basic science research projects that have strong alignment with one or more of the research priorities of the Cystic Fibrosis Community.
Clinical Research Grants
Clinic Incentive grants will continue to support the entry of data into the Canadian CF Registry however a new process in the form of a Clinician Education grant will be used to support continuous education of clinic staff.
Seed Grants
Seed Grants are funded for up to 1 year to study a new, innovative research idea for which the researcher doesn’t yet have preliminary data or other research funding. The goal of the Seed Grants program is to support researchers to develop initial data on innovative new research projects that can then be used to apply for new funding from other sources.
Training awards provide salary support and in some cases research laboratory support for researchers at specific stages in their career to help develop the next generation of Canadian CF researchers and clinicians:
Early Career Investigator awards
An independent researcher who has not held a Cystic Fibrosis Canada grant in the past and has held his/her first full- time academic or research appointment for a period no longer than 60 months are eligible to apply.
Research Fellowship awards
Individuals who hold MD or PhD degrees and as first-time applicants who, as of the application deadline have completed less than four years of training after completing their PhD or post-MD clinical training, are eligible to apply.
Clinical Fellowship awards
Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have an MD degree, have recently completed their clinical training, are exam eligible, and have obtained medical licensure in Canada, are eligible to apply.

Individuals, teams, and workplace employees can give a little back during the Holiday season by volunteering to wrap gifts at any of our participating malls. Funds raised from Wrapping for a Cure go back into the local community.
