Elevate is a virtual community engagement initiative made up of hundreds of Canadians who are affected by cystic fibrosis. Our community are first-hand experts on the impact of the disease and Elevate enables you to share your experiences through surveys, focus groups and other initiatives to help inform our work.

What is Elevate?

Elevate is a community input program for people impacted by cystic fibrosis. As you are the first-hand experts in the disease, Elevate enables you to share your perspectives, needs and experiences through surveys, focus groups and more to help inform our work.

Why is it important to join?

Elevate empowers people who live with cystic fibrosis, or who have a loved one with cystic fibrosis, to make an impact on the future of the disease. By sharing your first- hand experiences, needs, perspectives, priorities, opinions and thoughts, you'll help shape the directions of our work.

As an Elevate member, you'll also get an insider’s perspective on CF Canada’s work and receive regular updates on how your feedback is impacting our work.

Who can join?

Anyone who is living with or affected by cystic fibrosis including a youth or adult living with cystic fibrosis, a parent or caregiver, spouse or family member. Everyone affected by the disease brings their own unique experiences.

How do I join?

What kind of time commitment is involved?

The program is flexible, which means that Elevate members can participate in input opportunities as often or as little as they want. Participation could range anywhere from an online survey to a virtual focus group. You can choose to engage in whichever opportunities interest you and work for your schedule. There is no minimum participation requirement.

What kind of input opportunities will be offered to Elevate members?

The types of input opportunities you will receive will differ depending on the work Cystic Fibrosis Canada is doing and, in some cases, will be dependent on the information you provide during registration. Elevate members have participated in a wide range of opportunities including a survey about what they’d like to see in a CF Canada newsletter, focus groups about information and support resources and as community reviewers helping determine the research Cystic Fibrosis Canada will fund this year.

How will I know my voice is being heard?

As a member of Elevate, you can expect to receive a quarterly update on projects that Elevate members have provided their input on. In some cases, after individual input opportunities, we will also be asking participants to provide real-time feedback and briefly let us know their level of satisfaction with the project and process.

The registration form is detailed, why do you need all of this information?

All of your personal information is subject to Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s privacy policy and will be kept confidential. The personal information we collect from you for this community input initiative will be used internally to develop a better understanding of our community’s needs and to improve our stakeholder engagement. Your personal health information may be used in this program to target our communications and input efforts appropriately. Your personal information will not be disclosed outside our organization except with your consent or in accordance with the requirements of our privacy policy.
