Cystic Fibrosis Canada has opened its annual research grant competition for 2026. Canadian researchers with an interest in cystic fibrosis (CF) are invited to apply for funding to advance research that improves care, accelerates innovation, and addresses the most pressing needs of the CF community. The Basic Science and Clinical Research Grants return this year.

Applications are currently being accepted in the following categories:

  • Basic Science and Clinical Research Grants, supporting research that improves understanding of CF, advances treatments, and strengthens the connection between research and care
  • Early Career Investigator Awards and Research Fellowship Awards, investing in the next generation of CF research leaders
  • Seed Grants, supporting innovative, high-potential research ideas at an early stage
  • Seed Clinical Trial Planning Grants, enabling researchers to design and develop future clinical trials

Eligible proposals will be reviewed by scientific experts and members of the CF community, with funding awarded to projects that demonstrate strong scientific merit, alignment with community priorities, and the potential for meaningful impact.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s research strategy prioritizes innovation, collaboration, and near-term impact on care and quality of life. While progress is transforming what’s possible, continued research is essential—especially for those who cannot benefit from current therapies or who face complex health challenges.
