A Story of Hope: A Tribute to Jean-Sébastien

My name is Pier-Olivier Cabana, and I am honoured to share our story with you, the story of me and my friends and our precious Jean-Sébastien. Our group is united by an everlasting friendship and a shared memory: the story of an extraordinary man named Jean-Sébastien.

Jean-Sébastien, or JS as we called him, was much more than a friend. He was a beacon of light in our lives, a sharp mind and a generous soul. His intelligence, sense of humour and strength inspired us every day. We have sweet memories of his passionate debates, contagious laughter and ability to bring us together in any circumstance.

It was with heavy hearts that we learned that Jean-Sébastien had cystic fibrosis. It felt wrong to see such a good and generous person have to deal with such a devastating disease. Nevertheless, in spite of the challenges he faced, Jean-Sébastien always showed tremendous courage and resilience.

We kept him company while he was on his journey with cystic fibrosis and gave him our unconditional support. For him, the best way to support us was to keep living his life fully, by laughing and sharing wonderful moments together. He did not want to be defined by his disease, but rather by the life he led with us.

New revolutionary treatments like Trikafta fill us with hope for the future. We dream of a world where everyone with cystic fibrosis has access to effective care and a better quality of life. That is why we continue to support research and raise funds for the cause.

We encourage everyone to join us in this walk of hope. By participating and raising funds, you help change the course of history for all those affected by cystic fibrosis. Together, we are honouring Jean-Sébastien’s memory and building a better future for those who live with this disease.
