Latest impact report celebrates 65 years of rewriting the cystic fibrosis story 

Cystic Fibrosis Canada is proud to share our 2024-25 Impact Report, marking both a year of meaningful impact and ushering in our 65th anniversary that we’ll be celebrating throughout 2025. 

Fueled by the support of our community and generous donors, we are rewriting the cystic fibrosis story in Canada – not just within the last year, but over decades of unwavering commitment.  

Highlights since our creation in 1960 include: 

• Investing $289 million in research and healthcare initiatives that have fueled breakthrough discoveries for the cystic fibrosis community in Canada and around the world 
• Supporting earlier diagnosis of cystic fibrosis by successfully advocating for newborn screening  
• Achieving access to Trikafta for more people – including those with rarer genetic mutations – through focused advocacy 
• Expanding clinical trial opportunities, so everyone in Canada living with CF can participate if they qualify 
• Helping the CF community access better care through our work with cystic fibrosis clinics  

And we’re not done yet. 

Cystic fibrosis is still a life-limiting disease. That’s why we’re continuing to push forward, writing our next chapters with urgency and optimism. 

Buoyed by the progress of the past 65 years, let’s make the next 65 years not just the end of the cystic fibrosis story, but the new beginning that everyone in Canada’s cystic fibrosis community deserves.
