Why I Give Monthly: A CF Canada Team Member’s Perspective

For Chloe Hall, the Communications Manager at Cystic Fibrosis Canada, the mission of CF Canada is more than words– it’s deeply personal.
“Life is too limiting for so many living with CF, and for their loved ones too,” Chloe said. “No one deserves to miss out on life. CF Canada’s mission is to break down barriers so that everyone gets the chance at a life they deserve.”
Chloe doesn’t just talk about that mission in her day-to-day work – she lives it. Along with her role at the organization, she’s also a monthly donor. For her, giving isn’t about the size of the gift, but about showing steady, reliable support for a community she’s come to know and care for.
“My monthly donation isn’t life-changing for me, but it could be for someone living with CF,” she said. “It feels like I’m raising my hand each month to say, ‘I believe in you, and I believe in this cause.’”
Chloe has a unique perspective. Working at CF Canada, she sees firsthand how donations fuel research, care, and advocacy. She watches the advocacy team push for access to medications that could change lives. “Some people cannot afford the drugs they need and others may benefit from these therapies but don’t have the approval to try them,” she shares. “I see our team speaking up to legislators to change this". She also sees CF Canada team members connect directly with the community to specifically choose which studies to fund based on what will make the most difference in their lives, right now and in the future. She sees the healthcare staff working alongside CF clinical teams and families affected by the disease to ensure the right care is there when they need it.
The impact of this work is clear. Breakthrough drugs can give people a new lease on life. Adults may get the chance to live fuller, knowing they will be cared for. Parents and families will be able to feel a sense of relief.
But Chloe knows this progress is possible because of reliable support from donors.
“Big plans require stable funding,” she said. “When people donate on a monthly basis, CF Canada can plan for longer-term projects that could change the story of so many lives.”
Chloe wants to see a world where a cough doesn’t lead to days in the clinic. Where starting a family, travelling or attending university isn’t shadowed by worry. Where birthdays are celebrated with confidence that many more lie ahead. Where treatments are available as soon as they’re needed – and eventually, where a cure for cystic fibrosis is found.
This vision is what motivates her to keep giving.
Chloebelieves and knows first-hand that monthly giving is about more than the financial support, it’s about solidarity.
“As an employee, I’m fortunate to connect with people within the CF community and hear their stories,” she said. “Donating monthly reassures me that the work we do for this community will continue. That their story will change. That their challenges will one day lessen.”
By becoming a monthly donor, you’re helping fund urgent needs in research, advocacy, and care, while also ensuring CF Canada can dream bigger, plan further, and push harder toward the day when no life is limited by cystic fibrosis.
Stand with the cystic fibrosis community and become a monthly donor today. Help change the story.
