Cystic Fibrosis Canada is pleased to recognize 60 community members across the country who have contributed to the work of the organization and made meaningful impact in the lives of people affected by the disease.
Through two distinguished honours – the King Charles III Coronation Medal and Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s Community Award – we celebrate those whose dedication, leadership, and generosity have helped advance progress in CF research, care and advocacy.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a national honour recognizing Canadians who have made a significant contribution to Canada or their province, region or community, or whose achievements abroad have brought benefit or distinction to Canada. Exclusive to 2024, we are pleased to recognize 48 remarkable Canadians—including the co-founders of Cystic Fibrosis Canada, as well as a player and coach of the National Hockey League— who have been awarded a King Charles III Coronation Medal.
Organizations across a variety of sectors, including non-profit and community groups, were invited to nominate and award individuals who embody the eligibility criteria. Cystic Fibrosis Canada was privileged to take part in this initiative, inviting nominations for roles models that inspire others and demonstrate integrity and honesty in their contributions.
The Cystic Fibrosis Canada Community Awards are presented annually and recognize the individuals, groups, and families who generously donate their time, energy and financial support to help advance our vision of longer, healthier and fuller lives for Canadians with CF. Each year, community members are invited to submit nominations, which are carefully reviewed by an evaluation committee. This year, 22 individuals and groups have been selected as recipients of a Cystic Fibrosis Canada Community Award for their exceptional contributions.
The next nomination period will open soon, and we look forward to celebrating more inspiring contributions in 2025. The King Charles Coronation Medals, and Cystic Fibrosis Canada Community Awards, will be presented at gatherings across the country in 2025.
Congratulations to the 2024 recipients.
